There is a rubber board regional office in Agartala for the promotion of rubber plantation.

Bamboo Industry in Agartala
Bamboo is grown in abundance in Agartala. The craftsmen and artisans use bamboo to make items like decoration pieces and furniture. The cane and bamboo work of Agartala are one of the best works of the artisans here. The Agartala cane and bamboo works are much in demand in the country and abroad for their unique work, exquisite design and artistic appeal. They have great export potential also. The state government has launched the Tripura Bamboo Mission for the development of the sector. IT Sector of Agartala
Tripura is the second best IT destination after Guwahati in the Northeast. And IT sector has been identified as having huge potential in the state. There is a National Institute of Technology, an Engineering College, 2 Polly technique colleges and eight ITIs in the state. Agartala, the capital, in that sense has a good potential of IT based industries and it is hoped that in the near future Agartala would emerge as a fine IT destination in the Northeast. A Software Technology park is being set up at Agartala to provide infrastructure for setting up IT industries in the state.
