Agartala By Air

The Agartala airport, located 12 km northwest of the city of Agartala, is a domestic  airport administered by the Airports Authority of India. The second busiest airport in Northeast India after Guwahati, the Agartala airport connects the state of Tripura with other cities like Kolkata, Guwahati, Imphal, Delhi and Bangalore and so on. The Airport is approximately 11.5 km away from the main bus stand of the city. So private buses, and auto-rickshaws are available to reach the airport from the city.

Agartala By Road

Agartala is connected to Assam and the rest of India by National Highway 44. The highways (NH44 and NH 44A) connects Agartala with Dharmanagar, Silchar, Guwahati, Shillong and Aizawl. Bus facilities are available from Guwahati, Shillong and Silchar to Agartala. Within the city buses, auto rickshaws, jeeps and trekkers are the favourable modes of transport for people. Once in the Agartala city tourists can hire cars and vans also. There is bus service to Dhaka from Agartala.

Agartala By Railstation

The Agartala railway Station connects the city with other cites of India. Agartala is the second capital city in Northeast, after Guwahati in Assam, to be connected to the country's railway network. The Agartala Railway Station is located only 5.5 km from Agartala. The 413 km route connects to Lumding with a meter gauge track, where finally it bifurcates into a broad gauge track.
